APPLICATIONS ARE NOW OPEN. 

The SCU Student Bursary is open to students who meet all of the following criteria:

  • 25 years of age or younger
  • enrolled in any year of a full-time post-secondary program as of SEPTEMER 2026
  • a member of Sudbury Credit Union or has a parent, grandparent or guardian who is a member of Sudbury Credit Union.

*If you are selected as a bursary recipient, you will be required to provide proof of enrolment in a post-secondary program as of SEPTEMBER 2026.

Proof of full-time enrolment for the Fall term of the current year will be required if you are selected as a bursary recipient. Accepted forms of proof of enrolment include an Acceptance Letter/Enrolment Letter that confirms full-time enrolment for the upcoming Fall term, or a screenshot from the school’s official Web Portal that contains the student’s name, program and confirms full-time enrolment for the upcoming Fall term.

General Rules

  • The member must complete the Bursary Application Form.
  • The applicant must be enrolled in a full-time post-secondary education at an eligible institution as of SEPTEMBER 2026 and must provide proof of enrolment.
  • The applicant must be 25 years of age or younger.
  • The applicant must be an Ontario resident and a Canadian Citizen or have Landed Immigrant status.
  • Previous recipients of a Sudbury Credit Union Student Bursary are not eligible.
  • Sudbury Credit Union employees and Board members, as well as their children and grandchildren are not eligible.
  • There is no purchase necessary to be eligible.
  • Only one application per member is permitted.  It must be received at Sudbury Credit Union by 4:00 p.m. on August 4, 2026.  The random draw will be made at the Sudbury Credit Union office, supervised by the CEO or a designate, by August 7, 2026.
  • Each of the 6 draws will be for $600.00. Winners will have the amount deposited into a Sudbury Credit Union account in the same name of the winning member.
  • Winners will be contacted and will be asked for permission to publish their name and photo in Sudbury Credit Union publications and/or on the Sudbury Credit Union website.
  • In the event that a winner is unable to attend an eligible institution the payment will be cancelled and the money shall remain the property of the Sudbury Credit Union Limited.
